Wow…another year is coming to an end and we plan to enter 2010 in style with our biggest New Year’s Eve broadcast ever!  Your host Nick James begins the night at 8 by counting down his picks for the Top Albums of 2009, then stay tuned as we broadcast live from two different locations.  It’s a party on your radio all night long!

WFPK favorites Matt and Woody currently spend each Thursday night  spinning wax right on the lanes!  New Year’s Eve we’ll ring in 2010 with Matt and Woody live from the party at Vernon Lanes!  Head out there and be part of the broadcast or listen on your radio.

Woody’s Roadhouse is open all night and has a great jukebox to boot. All killer, no filler, baby. He features only the finest in honkin’ and twangin’ and shoutin’ at the Roadhouse. So drop in, won’t you? He kicks it into gear at 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights and we rock it ’til the cows come home on the mighty fine 91-9…

Matt Anthony was raised in the most regimented melting pot in the world – U.S. military bases. In this culture clash, he developed an appreciation for all types of music, but hip-hop would be his first love. He started DJ-ing dances in Italy at the age of thirteen. His partner was a senior from NYC. “He had the equipment and I had the music.” He also brought Matt tapes of DJ Red Alert (NYC’s premier radio jock). “The way these cats would scratch and blend music floored me. I knew this is what I had to do.”

The  on-air party kicks off with Unknow Hinson live from Jim Porter’s New Year’s Eve Blowout- 9pm
Raucous, theatrical and over-the-top, Unknown Hinson isn’t just for the trailer park set anymore! He’s toured with Hank3 and Rev. Horton Heat. Billy Bob Thornton names Unknown as one of his favorite songwriters and a genius picker. Matt Groening (the Simpsons) labels Unknown as a guitar maniac (and funny as hell to boot!) Hank3  has Unknown’s face tattooed on his bicep! Marty Stuart introduced him as his illegitimate brother at the Ryman in Nashville, and is placing Unknown on the front cover of his upcoming book of personal photographs. Tom Petty came backstage at a Hollywood event to ask Unknown how he gets his “sound”.

Unknown is also gaining notoriety (and fans) as the voice of lead character “Early Cuyler” in the popular new show from Cartoon Network “The Squidbillies”. The first season was so well-received that an immediate green light was given to two more seasons.
