Marion was born in Louisville but moved with her family to Jacksonville, Fla. at age 10. While there, she discovered the two great loves of her life (beside her husband): music and history.
Marion returned in the late ’80s to attend the University of Louisville. A guitarist since age 6 and a songwriter since age 15, Marion met her bass-playing husband John while they were members of the rock band Stop, Drop and Roll.
Graduating from North Carolina State University with an MA in history, Marion and her husband moved back to Louisville for the last time in 2000. She was the music supervisor Hawley-Cooke Booksellers’ Gardiner Lane location until it closed in 2003. Marion joined the Louisville Public Media family in 2004 on WUOL, before later moving to WFPK.
You can hear Marion Monday through Thursday from noon to 3 p.m. and Fridays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
