You know them…you love them…but you hate to admit it! There are songs, artists, and bands that you love but feel guilty about for whatever reasons. Maybe they were played to death on Top 40 radio and everybody is sick to death of them so it’s not “cool” to say “Hey, I like “Hotel California”! or “Dancing Queen” is my all time favorite tune!”  But when no one’s around or you’re feeling a little down, you secretly return to these songs like comfort food at Mom’s house. Sure, you feel guilt and a little shame because you’re being “uncool” but these songs make you feel good too so they can’t be all that bad can they?

Well now there is something you can do about it. Each weekday around 3:20pm on 91.9 FPK, join Laura Shine for your “Guilty Pleasure of the Day” and purge your soul of REO Speedwagon, Neil Diamond or Journey or whomever else is plaguing you. She’ll play it loud and proud for you no matter how guilt ridden she may feel about it! Email her your guilty pleasure … anonymity will be respected!

The Daily Feed

Kyle Meredith hosts The Daily Feed, a one song daily feature of whatever the big internet buzz was the day before. Listen each weekday morning at 8:05 for a companion song to his Monday night radio show, The Weekly Feed, that compiles the songs making waves across music blogs and the internet. The program and daily feature bridge the gap between net and radio – the two biggest outlets for music – it’s a place for you to discover everything you’ll want to know about as a music fan.

Jam Sessions

We know you love to groove, truth be told so do we, and what better way to enable ourselves to get down than to play the Jam Bands that you know and love. Monday through Thursday nights at 11:05 Jam Sessions fills the void. Four nights a week WFPK joins the Jam with artists like Phish, The John Butler Trio, Moe and of course The Dead! E-mail Nick your suggestion for a song!

The PAWS Report

Each Wednesday at 3:30pm, Laura Shine visits with a representative from the Kentucky Humane Society. The discussion features an adoptable pet plus lots of pet-talk.

9/1/10 George, a four-year-old orange tabby cat, can’t wait to meet YOU. This handsome boy will entertain you with his playful antics, then snuggle up with you for an afternoon nap. Neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations, this big sweetheart can offer a lifetime of companionship. Come visit George today at the Kentucky Humane Society’s Main Campus.
You can always visit The Kentucky Humane Society’s website or call (502) 366-3355 for more information or to view pictures and profiles of many pets looking for homes.
