While growing up in a small town in northern Indiana, Nick always knew he wanted music to be a large part of his life. In high school, he sang in the choir and in college cut his teeth on radio for the first time. After graduating from Goshen College with a Major in Communications and Minor in Art he began the search for his dream job. After two years of working in a furniture factory and holding down a part-time radio gig, he finally found his way down to Louisville. Nick can be heard Monday-Thursday from 9pm-1am and Saturday from 4-7pm.
FPK After Dark Features
- If the voice is the oldest instrument in human history then the hands can’t be far behind. Every Monday nights at 10:05 we celebrate that idea with a song that holds true to its percussive nature by incorporating the smacking of palms with FPK’s Got The Clap. Why, because it’s just good old clean fun, and lets hear a round of applause for the clap.
- Everyone knows Louisville for the ponies and for baseball bats, but what about the tunes. Tuesday nights at 10:05 we bring to light local music with Derby City Tracks. Every town has its own taste, every city its own flavor, and Louisville is no exception to the rule.
- Sure we keep you in the know with local acts and the large national artists too but what’s happening on the other side of the ocean that you need to hear? Wednesday nights at 10:05 we take a look and current and up and coming artists form the UK and beyond with Across The Pond. The invasion might have started with the Beatles and the Stones but it isn’t over yet.
- Did you know that The Beastie Boys and Neil Diamond have shared the same producer, or that a private loan from Dave Schools of Widespread Panic enabled Drive-By Truckers to record one of their first records. These are just a couple of examples of ties that bind your favorite artist together. Every Thursday night at 10:05 we explore these connections with two some how related songs on FPK Commons.
Thing you probably didn’t know about Nick: has eaten and enjoyed fish that has been served whole, head and all, yet the idea of eating sushi grosses him out.
