Michael has been blurring the line between rock and country since 1998 on Roots ‘n’ Boots (Sundays 5-8pm). Whether it’s Americana singer-songwriters, straight-up country, hillbilly, rockabilly, western swing, alt-country, roots rock, country-rock or what-not, it doesn’t matter. On Roots ‘n’ Boots, there’s room for outlaws, preachers, rockers, and prophets. All you have to do is have a good story to tell, whether you tell it with a fiddle or a Fender is strictly up to you.

Michael has been host and producer of Roots ‘n’ Boots since it began in April of 1998. He’s a member of the Americana Music Association and reports WFPK’s Americana Airplay to the association’s Americana Airplay Chart. Michael occasionally guest-hosts other WFPK programs and airshifts and is generally acknowledged as the “country music guy.” He firmly believes Merle Haggard is the greatest songwriter of our generation, and he’ll stand on Bob Dylan’s coffee table and shout it.
