c.d. confesses he didn’t see The Dark Knight Rises because of his feelings on what happened in Colorado, plus the darkness and violence never intrigued him.  He did see the Norwegian film…Headhunters…ironically it had a lot of violence.

c.d.k. opens with info on his blogs about Forecastle. Then turns to his concerns about the color quality of Indy Films and a form known as Mumble Core. Closing he opines on 2 films…Your Sister’s Sister and Lola Versus.

c.d.’s burning question this morning was…”Does Giovanni Ribisi need a new agent?”  The answer is Yes…gauging by his character in the very funny movie Ted.  Then his attention turned to the light adult drama…People Like Us with stellar performances by Michelle Pfeiffer, Elizabeth Banks and Chris Pine.

First you are urged to…”get out of the house” and see live music outside…like Waterfront Wednesday or at the Iroquois Amphitheater.  Then c.d.k. tries to review…Wes Anderson’s…confusing but interesting Moonrise Kingdom with Bruce Willis, Frances McDormand and Bill Murray.

c.d. initiates the conversation talking about that something that some actors have when their personality pops of the screen…and Maggie Gyllenhaal has it in the very cute comedy Hysteria.  80′s hair metal and vamping for the camera is the next topic…in the musical Rock Of Ages.

Mr. Kaplan’s opening remarks are aimed at Beck. Then he asks and answers the question…What elevates a film?  From there he turns his attention to a movie that captured his imagination more than any movie in a while… Sound Of My Voice…with Brit Marling…the surest person  for stardom since Charlize Theron.

c.d. begins with his opinion on sequels…then looks at the not awful Men In Black 3. Then he turns his attention to the beautifully photographed treat for…as he said…those of golden agedom…The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

Chuck K. was surprised by The Dictator…if you believe the reviews it’s terrible…but he thought it was fun and he laughed more than expected.  Then he turned his attention to a very enjoyable niche film…What To Expect When You’re Expecting.  And thirdly… a worthy see…The Undefeated…an intimate documentary about a High School football team and it’s volunteer coach.
